OK, its 8pm, the bath water running.. As you pour yourself a (large) glass of red wine, let me tell you about the best products that you will need for the ultimate bath. Pretty and functional, the japanese body scrubber will give you the softest skin ever. Just remember to use on dry skin before you get in the bath using gentle strokes going towards the heart. Now you are scrubbed, the hot water and heavenly smell of the deep relax oil by Aromatherapy Associates is about the closest thing that you can get to a sleeping pill. If you are going out they also have a revive scent for evening which i have also used and to be honest you will love it before you slip out into the night. To make your bath extra lush surround your self in gorgeous Dyptique candles.

The LA based designer Raquel Allegra is such a creative. She is  really known for her shredded effect t shirts and tie dye prints.  This season she has injected more colour into her usually black and neutral pallette.

Hot rod chicks, diner queens, rebels and American sweethearts. The summer will be filled with enough ice cream colours cat eye glasses and sweet 50's silouettes. I want everything from the Prada SS collection, those 50s car prints and shoes with buick fins on the back will be collectables for another 50.

Monday Warm up

via Art 8
This is the type of thing that sums up Monday morning for me. First thing, I hit the gym and do spinning which is  exhilarating/torture. I love gym clothes. I get my basics from American Apparel, Sweaty Betty for Yoga, and a few bits from Nike and Adidas. Bright colours and all black are equally great. The only thing that matters is that you put them on!

Painted Ladies

 via mocoloco

Kelly Tunstall is a San Francisco based artist. The top three photos are pieces I own from her collection titled handbag girls(2003). Since then she has continued to paint her whimsical ladies. Here are a couple more examples of her work, the big scale pieces are just amazing. I would love to have her paint a wall in my flat (she does that too!)

Inspiration

I am named after Lauren Hutton and I can see why my mom loved her. This isn't how we know her because she is not smiling exposing her wonderful gap! What a great picture; capturing the start of her long and iconic career.

Russian Doll

via Style Tao

Vika Gazanskaya is one of the exciting style makers/designers to come out of Russia recently. Her blend of old and new is really fascinating and she is just so cute! i really love her style and she is definately a breath of fresh air as she doesn't copy looks, she creates them.

Good Morning

via World hum

AHH Sunday. Walk followed by a delicious breakfast cooked by my husband and lots and lots of coffee. Its Mothers day and I was treated to beautiful flowers and lots of hugs. The party was fun last night. We danced so much! Jade Jagger's Jezebel party destination was a great Loft in Kensel Rise (what a great location for a party.) Happy Birthday Katie!

BRASS LABEL

go to BRASSLABEL at Etsy online shop

A while ago my talented friend Zoe Knaggs finished her last Brass Collection. She is now selling her stuff on Etsy. There are lots of perfect things for summer so have a look! She has a incredible intuition for design and was classically trained at Central Saint Martins. Not only are her designs beautiful but they are of high quality. I particularly love the floral prints and grass print of this collection. I was lucky to work on this shoot and do the make up. The impeccable styling is thanks to Zoe and Mathew Holroyd.

Roll on Saturday!

Here are a couple things that I bought at Liberty, my favorite store in London. On my rare outings without my son, I often end up wandering around there lusting after various collections. Yesterday I went in for the Christopher Kane J brand jeans but ended up getting a top instead. It fits like a dream and the colour is amazing. The Acne Bacall shorts will be lived in all summer. They are just the right blend of dressy casual. I am going to a party on Saturday and have this top in mind or maybe my little playsuit from Etoile...Either way my blush coloured Top Shop blazer will be a saviour when it gets later. I love nothing more than the art of getting ready. Roll on Saturday!

Scarlet Begonias

First of all, who wouldnt want to look like her; but the seventies feel of this floral top with the pendant and high waisted jeans also looks beautiful and fresh. I love prints in small doses, I dont think that I will be wearing three prints at once as is the style this spring even though it is in "fashion".

Make up Brushes 101

via Laurla

Quality make up brushes are so important for a good application. They are not only going to last for years but they feel so luxurious when you use them. Its much more of a treat using gorgeous(clean) brushes. You dont have to clean them everyday but twice a month with gentle shampoo should keep them like new. If you are breaking out it might be time to clean your brushes!  Never wash in hot water as good brushes are hand laid and they will start to shed. Make up brushes come in two styles: synthetic and natural hair. A general rule is to use natural hair for powder and synthetic for creamy products like concealers or foundation. The best tools for make up in my opinion come from Shu Uemura, Bobbi Brown and Tom Ford. Some of my make up artist friends have even found beautiful brushes at the art supply store.

Favorite Brush: Red Shu Uemura Powder brush (so pretty)
most used brush: Tom Ford Foundation Brush
best brush for the eyes: Mac pencil brush
Cant live without: Mac blush brush
Worst Brush: Mac foundation brush( it turned green and rotted!!)

Whitstable

Spent Sunday with the fam in Whitstable (a seaside town in Kent.) We ate cheap and fresh seafood and wandered the town ending up at the beach. They have great second hand furniture and vintage shops there. Must go back and bargain hunt when the weather is not so nice. I wore my pink jeans from IM and the oldest boots I own which are from Argentina. My sunglasses are last season Dries van Noten. I am so happy that Spring is finally here.
